Site Usage

There are two ways to browse through our images: via the collections link in the menu bar or by using our search engine.

We have grouped our images into collections of between eight and eighty related images, for instance all images of a national park or a walking track. Use the collections link (or press the film strip) to browse through our collections.

Our search engine will let you search on keywords in all our collections. You can search on one keyword or a combination of keywords. The engine returns thumbnails and links to images that contain at least one of the keywords that you specified in sets of ten per page. The search results are ranked by relevance, i.e. the more keywords apply to an image the higher the rank.

Both the thumbnails in the collections and the thumbnails in the search results link to a larger (but watermarked) version of the image with more information about the image such as a longer description. This page also provides a link to a pop-up with exif information such as aperture, focal length, shutter speed, ISO (exif information is only available for images that were taken with a digital camera).

Although you should be able to browse and search through all our collections and see all our pictures without Javascript, some advanced features need to have Javascript enabled.
