Cascade Saddle Track

The walk we made over Cascade Saddle was the most beautiful of all the walks that we have made in New Zealand. By jet-boat we were brought upstream the Dart River. At the end of the day, we put up camp next to a shelter. Whilst climbing to the Cascade Saddle, we got impressive views on the Dart Glacier. We were so lucky with the weather that we could camp right on the Saddle. From the Saddle there is still a bit of climbing to do before you reach the highest point of the track. Finally, we descended into the Matukituki Valley. It's a steep descend of more than 1000 meters, and it took us a couple of days to recover from it..
