Flores is an island in the Nusa Tenggara province. The landscape is rugged and full of active and extinct volcanoes. But there are also green, wet rice fields. Flores has a population of less than 2 million people making it a (compared to Indonesian standard) rather sparsely crowded island. Christianity is the main religion. Around 85% of the people are Christian. Christianity in this part of Indonesia has animistic rites incorporated.
The route that we traveled was: Maumere, Moni (Keli Mutu), Ende, Bajawa, Ruteng, Labuhanbajo. From Labuhanbajo we visited Kanawa Island, Komodo Island and Rinca Island. The pictures are in the same order.
