Welford National Park is located in Central Western Queensland. The main river in the Park is the Barcoo River, which is one of the contributors to the Lake Eyre Basin.
The National Park has plenty to offer. There's a huge variety of birds and other wildlife. One can camp on the banks of the Little Boomerang Waterhole. And in the Park, there are 3 scenic drives, giving you the opportunity to explore the various aspects of the park.
Welford National Park is located 60 kilometers south-east of Jundah. Travel south-west from Blackall on the Yaraka Retreat Road, or north-west from Quilpie on the Diamantina Development Road to the Jundah-Quilpie Road, and then go on this road until you see the turnoff to the park's entrance.
This year (2005) we visited the park for the first time. But it most certainly won't be the last time that we've been here!
