Mount Augustus or Burringurrah National Park

Mount Augustus or Burringurrah is the largest monolith in the world. Just another statistic ... we just like it because it's beautiful. Mount Augustus rises 715 metres out of its surrounding landscape, which consists of red arid shrubland with wattles, cassias and tall mulla mullas. You can drive around the rock - it is 49 kilometres and there are walks, lookouts etc. to enjoy. Close to the mountain, there's the Mount Augustus resort, which, unlike the one near Ayers Rock, is low key and a pleasure to be..
